As the World Turns....

I'm a person that likes to exist with the sun. Maybe you would like too as well. And since the solstice recently passed, I will share with you how I see the calendar....

First of all... I don't see the spiritual beginning of the year as January 1st. Yes I live in the world like everyone else. So I have to experience things the same way everyone else does. But my spiritual practice is my own not applicable to what the masses do. My new year begins on the Spring Equinox. And I celebrate the same way people celebrate 12/31--1/1. I plan a celebration and make sure I'm out in nature when the new year starts the same way folks like to celebrate in Times Square on 12/31. I also do my congregations reading of the year on the date if possible. The reason I say if possible, because people have square jobs and I try to make things comfortable for them. Spring is the season I begin any new projects that were conceived during the previous season.

The Summer is prime working season and entertainment and travel season. When I first heard the phrase "Hot Girl Summer" I was like YES!!!! This is the time of pleasant activities. And I allow myself to truly enjoy the season while working as hard as possible. This is the season of energy. It's available for all to tap into.

The Autumn begins the slowing down. I start to reap the data from all the projects that were birthed in the Spring and nurtured throughout the Summer. It's a Harvest. And always be honest with data. If something didn't work out, accept it. Figure out how to correct mistakes or even if it's worth trying again. If things worked out, ask yourself if you're willing to do it all over again.

Now Winter.... My least favorite season. The lack of light as well of the lack of inspiration is painful for me. I'm a person that need sun and warm weather. But it is a really good time to receive visions and catch up on rest. It's the time for planning not doing. It's the time for preparation. Are you planning a garden? You don't wait until it's time for seeds to go in the ground to start making decisions. You make the decisions prior. If your life is such that you can't plan for new things... and a lot of people exist like this... it's time to learn something new. Learn a new language, skill, recipes, etc. And when the world is reborn you can implement them into your life.

Graciously, all the seasons are the same 90 days. You have the same amount of time each season to get your goals accomplished. I actual set my fiscal quarters with the seasons. Offerings are different in each season based on what's seasonally available. Some of my ritual activities change based on the seasons. And if you honor the seasons because it is the season... the season will give you it's own gifts.

PS: I do the FBA traditional activities based on the calendar, because its traditional.
